Arts Ballet Theatre welcomes you to the 2016-2017 Season!
Concluding a spectacular season on June, 2016 and including the participation at The International Young Dancers Festival in Indonesia, Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida prepares its new 2016-2017 season with four programs summoning the best of international ballet works.

Under the artistic direction of Vladimir Issaev, the company is ready to embark on the season’s line up.  The selected programs of the upcoming season, embrace an array of pieces including those of Russian composer Prokofiev, French composer Ravel and some neoclassical works by our own local pride and master choreographer Vladimir Issaev in addition to international guests artists.
In October Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida celebrates the 125th anniversary of the Russian master composer Sergei Prokofiev with excerpts of some of his most famous ballets. Mary Carmen Catoya and Daniel Sarabia, company principal dancers will lead first roles.

The Nutcracker will come back early December. A holiday classic, this yearly masterpiece will be showcased in Miami and Broward for all families’ enjoyment, with the original choreography by Vladimir Issaev.

Starting 2017, one of the most enchanting ballet characters of the company’s repertoire returns to entertain adults and children alike.  Chipollino is a ballet with a choreography by Issaev.  It is inspired in the music by the Russian composer Karen Khachaturian and is based in the children story of Italian writer Gianni Rodari.
In May of 2017, the Spring Ballet Gala will offer a performance that will include Pas de Deux works and some neo-classic pieces, originals of the company’s Artistic Director.  As an innovative element this year the Gala will also rely on the participation of international choreographers and dancers invited specially to summit the 2016-2017 season.

The company has become a force in the ballet community of South Florida and it is also expanding its performances to most important venues in South Florida such as the Fillmore at the Jackie Gleason Theater, the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center, the Julius Littman North Miami Beach Performing Arts Theatre, The Parker Playhouse of Fort Lauderdale, the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, the Willow Theater in Boca Raton and the Sunrise Civic Center. The company made its debut in New York at the New Dance Amsterdam Theater in 2012 and it continuously tours internationally to Europe and South America.

WHAT THE CRITICS SAY:
“Issaev's genius and teaching/directing shows through in his dancers,…The entire dance team is a reflection of the notable precision and classical dance beauty for which Issaev has few equivalents."

Ron Levitt, Contributing writer for Entertainment News and Views

“Indeed Issaev’s sweeping choreography for this episode recalled the work of the great Russian choreographer Leonid Lavrovsky. Memorable moments like this are what ballet is all about. Issaev’s family spectacle proved a real winner.”

Lawrence Budmen, Contributing writer for Entertainment News and Views.
